- 100 grams basmati rice.
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds.

- Half a teaspoon of Jamaican pepper.
- Half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Half a teaspoon of brown sugar.

Preparation
- Heat the oil in a pan, and when hot, add the sliced onion, until it turns Golden Brown. Transfer to a colander and salt.
- Meanwhile, putt he lentils to boil in a smal saucepan, covering them with wáter; bring to a boil and cook for 12-15 minutes, until the lentils are ready, then drain in a colander.
- Toast the cumin and coriander seeds for 1 minute to release their aromas. Add a tablespoon of olive oil, rice, turmeric, Jamaican pepper, cinnamon, sugar, salt and black pepper. Stir everything and add about 175 ml of water. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
